推甄面試大忌：資料制式、亂辯論

大學甄選個人申請下月開始第二階段指定甄試，很多系所要求資料審查，也有面試。台大生物環境系統工程學系教授張文亮，昨天在一場演講中指出，面試時奇裝異服、跟面試老師辯論是大忌。

My comments: An interview is a formal occasion. 

張文亮也說，部分學生備審資料看起來一模一樣，相當制式，「看起來有人操刀」，面試老師很容易發現，也是大忌，會影響分數。他強調，個人資料不需精美，可以跟父母、老師等討論，但必須是自己寫的。

My comments: Some universities limit candidates' autobiography or study plan to one page or 1000 words.  Heading each section in the autobiography with a  one-sentence summary of the section would help the professors remember the autobiography better.

台大醫學院院長楊泮池在台大校務會議後受訪時也建議學生，面試時平常心，至於備審資料「過度包裝不好」，請人寫的個人資料、履歷等，「面試老師看得出來」。

My comments: Over-pacakge is not environmetally friendly.

美麗人生全人關懷協會為協助高中生掌握面試要訣、增加臨場應對經驗，昨天舉行「模擬面試」工作坊，分成商學院、大眾傳播、設計、戲劇等10多組，有300多高中生報名，並請張文亮擔任講員，傳授個人資料準備及面試技巧。

My comments: Every high school will hold mock interview workshop after the first-stage result is announced on March 24.   NHSH has scheduled the workshop from March 29 to 31.

張文亮說，面試老師會注意學生高中在校成績、社團經驗，且常問的問題是「為什麼申請我們的系」，如果特殊經驗與申請某系相關，更應好好利用，例如學生申請該系指出，是因為差點被土石流淹到，因該系跟土石流相關就有說服力。

My comments: Another frequently asked question is "Persuade us that you are the right person for our department."  Besides, the candidates had better prepare an English self-introduction.

弱勢學生面試是否較為不利，張文亮認為並不一定，學生要寫個人資料，要多利用自己的優勢，例如通過該系學生要72級分，成績很高，學生載明自己來自偏鄉，努力不懈的精神，很容易打動面試老師。

My comments: Attitude is everything.

張文亮指出，面試時保持平常心即可，答不出來時可以深呼吸，或請對方再講一次問題，爭取一點時間想答案，不要沈默，真的答不出來時，可以說「如果我有機會進入貴系，會好好找答案」，但這屬斷尾求生法，只能用一次。

My comments:  Take deep breaths and listen attentively to the questions.

張文亮不諱言，面試是為找到適合學生，為免學生因緊張答不出來，愈來愈多系所面試時會讓學生抽題庫，先想5分鐘再回答。

My comments: This is a more humane way.

新北市雙溪高中三年級的林明學申請北藝大和文化戲劇系，昨天參加模擬面試，主考官要他兩分鐘內配合音樂表演「我是一隻豬」，他說，一開始真的傻眼。他認為，模擬面試對他幫助很大，回家會趕快找題目再練習。

My comments: I was told a few years ago that, in an interview at a drama department, a candidate was asked to act out "a puddle of mud."   Being well-prepared will boost one's confidence.
