Yesterday I went to Tainan with George by HSR. It was a good experience. With HSR, we could finish the trip within one day, not only going to Tainan, but visiting two historic sites: Tainan Confucian Temple and Koxinga Shrine. A miracle of technology!

It took us about one and a half hours to go to Tainan. From the HSR station we took the shuttle bus downtown. Very convenient. We could have rented a car, but we decided to use public transportation and our feet. In fact, except for the shuttle bus, we didn't take any bus or taxi. We walked. And it is because that we didn't spend 4 and a half hours going from Taipei to Tainan that we can walk leisurely in this old city, far from Taipei.

I love HSR,though it is a little expensive--Taipei-Tainan: NT$1,350 per person.
