Today a student came to have a chat with me. She said recently she posted on Facebook about her low mood. Among the responses she got, the most impressive one is from a Russian lady: "Life is tough, but you are tougher."
How I love this sentence! Simple but powerful! Here the lady uses a pun: "tough" defined as "difficult to deal with" and tough meaning "able to live through difficult or severe conditions."
Yes, life may be tough, but we can be tougher.
