There Will Be Miracle When You...

A student at Yu-ling High School (武陵高中) got a 71 ranking score on the SAT,  ranking the 29th in his school.  What is special about him is that he ranked the 452nd in school on the SAT mock exam. 

After entering high school, Mr. Lin didn't work hard at all in his 1st and 2nd years; however, once entering the senior year, he decided to study very hard.   He studied at school after class at least 3 hours, and one more hour after he got home. 

Mr. Lin's story proves one thing.  There will be miracle when one decides to change and persists.

P.S.   Though Mr. Lin did well on the SAT, he still suggested high school students lay a solid foundation in the 1st and 2nd years so that they won't be too tired when preparing for the entrance exam in the 3rd year.

全校452→29名 林家一大躍進

國立武陵高中3年級學生林家一在今年學測扮「黑馬」，總成績71級分，讓老師、同學嚇一大跳，原本他在校模擬考校排第452名，這次學測成績卻同列全校第29名，昨天他直說「幸運」。校長林繼生說，林家一進步之大，可見認真努力就有收穫。

 

中壢國中畢業的林家一說，國中時期，父親盯得緊，考進武陵之後，高一、高二他都在玩，喜歡打籃球，看NBA球賽，交女友，直言「自己不認真、成績不理想」。

 

他說，上高三後，班上同學拚學測競爭激烈，心想「一定要好好拚一年」，只好花比別人更多時間拚功課，周一至周五每天下課後留校讀書，至少3小時，回家再讀1小時，每天跟著老師複習5科講義不敢再鬆懈。

 

林家一這次學測成績是，英文15分滿級分、國文、數學、自然、社會科均14級分，均差1分就滿級分。他稱許說，林家一在全校3年級683人中，考452名，學測卻以總成績71級分同列全校第29名。

 

林家一說，考前沒想過會考這麼好，他也有心理準備要再拚指考，看到成績，不只老師驚訝，自己也很驚訝，覺得很幸運。他喜歡小動物，想申請台大獸醫，如申請不到再拚指考。

 

以他的經驗，他覺得1、2年級基礎很重要，不要玩太多，基礎不夠，高三會讀得很累，重新花很多時間複習，尤其推甄看1、2年級成績，1、2年級成績好，加學測推甄較輕鬆。
