台科大校長勉新生：快樂才是關鍵

台灣科技大學昨天舉辦新生入學典禮，校長陳希舜期勉新生「做自己熱愛的事，熱愛自己做的事」，如果遇到不擅長、不喜歡的事，就要轉換心境，學著「喜歡自己必須做的事」，秉持這樣的精神，不管在大學或職場都容易成功。

My comments: Attitude is everything. As Aristotle said, “Happiness depends upon ourselves.” Alwasy remember to lift your lips and make a smile while working. It works miracles!

台科大昨天舉辦101年新生入學指導，讓3千多位大學、研究所新生、外籍生與陸生熟悉校園生活環境，校方也贈送學校專屬的環保餐具給新生。

校長陳希舜以艾伯特‧史懷哲的名言與新生分享，「成功不是快樂的關鍵，快樂才是成功的關鍵，如果熱愛你做的事，你將會是一個成功者。」（”Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you’ll be a success.”）陳希舜鼓勵新生，不要盲目追求別人喜歡或是熱門的科系，學會做自己，尋求自我價值；了解自己最開心的事、最擅長的事，將快樂的事情做到最好。

My comments: However, when we have to do something seemingly daunting to us, for example, overcoming difficulty in learning English, though it may not be what we love, it has happinese in store for us. In this case, the following quote is so true.

“Happiness does not come from doing easy work but from the afterglow of satisfacion that comes after the achievement of a difficult task that demanded our best.” –Theodore Rubin (an American psychiatrist)
