Laughter, the Best Medicine

Yesterday in Class 301, when we came to the vocabulary word "microphone" in Unit 9, I invited the students to give me more words with the prefix "micro-." They shouted out their answers: "microscope," "microwave," "Microsoft"...

Then just as I proceeded to teach the next word, I heard some giggles. So I stopped, and a student said, "Ma'am, Yen said, 'Micro Jackson.'"

The whole class burst into a roar of laughter. LOL

Everyone knows where the problem is. As their teacher, I had to make sure that the whole class now knew the difference between "micro" and "Michael." So I asked for the spelling of "Michael." They gave me the right word. That's a relief!
