YouTube Edu

Annie (詹麗馨老師) just called me and mentioned a website set up by YouTube meant to offer free lectures on video from different US universities.  She told me it was introduced in the latest issue of TIME.  After hanging up, I rushed for the magazine (April 27) and found the article "Logging On to the Ivy League."  Terrific!  Now we can sit at home in Taiwan and learn from professors in the US.

Here is a passage from the TIME article (pp.37-38) about this "feat":

"In March, YouTube launched an education hub called YouTube Edu, dedicated exclusively to videos from the more than 100 schools--ranging from Grand Rapids Community Colleges to Harvard Business School--that have set up official channels on the site."

During the coming summer vacation, I'll take some courses from YouTube Edu.  Yale University professor Amy Hungerford's "English:The American Novel Since 1945" seems appealing.

In the era of Internet, it seems nothing is impossible.
