A Beautiful Afternoon with Wonderful Friends

Before Shu (劉書真老師) goes back to the States tomorrow, we six, Shu, Annie (詹麗馨老師), Angel (林佩蓉老師), Yili (彭宜秝老師), Meiyun (張美雲老師) and I, set aside time from our busy schedule to have a gathering this afternoon.

Shu and Annie graduated from the same university, with Annie a year junior to Shu. This was the first time they sat down to have a face-to-face chat. Both know a lot of about living and live their life to the fullest. Shu enjoys gardening and cooking in her home in California. She also has fun socializing and traveling. Her philosophy of life is "Work hard, and play harder." Annie, who also relishes preparing food for her family, goes admiring nature with her husband almost every morning on weekdays. Besides, she writes reading and TED logs every day.

Yili spends more time with her mom. Meiyun is learning Japanese and frequently goes to lectures/talks. Among us six, only Angel is not retired. She is still working hard as a teacher.

When I asked Shu what she missed most about Taiwan when she was in the States, she answered, "Friends."

I should have known the answer. Sure, friends give our life colors.
