The First Summer Make-up Class

I'm going to teach a summer make-up class for a teacher from today to August 13. All the classes are in the afternoon, the latest until 7:55pm. The textbook is a supplementary material by the same publisher of their textbook used during their 2nd year.

Today is the first time to meet the 36 students. Before guiding them to learn, I'm going to ask them to write down why they failed the course last semester. I won't force them to write in English, because what I'd like to know is the reason, not their English proficiency level. Perhaps during the reflection, they can figure out on their own what to do and not to in the future. I do want to help them to learn.
