What is most important to you?

In the last paragraph of Unit 1 "Dying to Look Beautiful," a question is raised: "What is most important to you?"  The textbook lists three possibilities: having friends, being successful in school, and having a good career.  Then the writer mentioned that none of these "will be achieved simply by looking attractive." She uses this argument to remind people that to look beatiful at any cost doesn't guarantee a happy life.  Then she added, "It takes inner beauty--including personality and intelligence--to find true happiness."

I like this lesson very much.  In this appearance-oriented world, it can serve as food for thought.
