What Is the Story Behind the Picture?

This was the picture the contestants based their story on at last Saturday's New Taipei Junior High School English Speech Contest. I posted it here with the permission from the host school.

Each student had 20 minutes to make up a two-to-three-minute story. It was a pity that many of the students failed to focus on what was presented in the picture, though their English ability is really good. They went too far.

When I saw the picture, the first idea that flashed into my mind was a monologue of the bench, recalling different stories happening during the daytime on or around it while appreciating the serenity of the night. Of course, there are several other ways to tell a story about the picture. But the important elements should account for the biggest part of the speech, for example, the bench, the darkness, the quietness, the night, the park/road, etc. And in the conclusion, some of the elements should be mentioned again to help achieve unity.
