How to Spend Your Summer Vacation Indoors and Outdoors

At last! Summer is almost here! You can kick back and enjoy life. But, what's there to do but be lazy? Well, read this article and you'll find out what summer vacation is about! There are so many things you can do, both with family or friends.

1. Go to a summer camp. It will be fun but sometimes summer camp prices range from $100 and up. So if that's a problem, go spend a few days at a friend's house or spend time with a favorite relative. Be imaginative. Your imagination will help make this year's summer vacation a reality!

2. Hiking. Hiking is a popular activity but sometimes dangerous. It can also be great exercise and burn lots of calories. Most importantly, it's loads of fun and can be a great way to spend some quality time with family. Go with a buddy so both of you are with someone in the time of need. Find local hiking trails by visiting local municipal websites. Go to Ask.com or Yahoo to find the best hiking spots. If you know that the hiking hills are difficult to come down on, take a hiking stick with you.



3. Crafts. Check out some good arts and crafts book from the local library. Buy the supplies needed and make some of the crafts. You can also sell the finished products in your front lawn and make some extra money to spend!

4. Computer games! 5. Traveling! Lucky you! Research ahead of time on the area you are traveling. For example, if you are going to Disney World, have an itinerary of the attractions that will be of interest to you. See tips also.



6. Library or bookstore. Go to your local library or bookstore and buy a new book series. Reading is a great activity for summer, and it will help you brush up on skills needed for the upcoming school year.

7. Funk out. Get a good CD and put it on a radio or stereo. Play it on your fave song, and dance!!! Have a camera to tape you. This is great for slumber parties.

8. Sleepovers! A classic, but this is great to keep in touch with friends! Play games, eat, dance, share secrets, truth or dare and many more!

9. Aah, ice cream...the snack of the summer! Google ice cream recipe and it'll teach you how to make homemade ice cream. It'll be much more fun. Also, you can go out with friends to an ice cream restaurant and make an outing of it.

10. Movies. GO to the movies with friends and family! In the mood for chick flicks? Try Aquamarine or Ice Princess. Ready to laugh it up with pals? The Beverly Hillbillies is a classic! Drama, action, etc.? Go for Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean or The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe!

11. Try gardening! Dedicate your time to a garden, full of beautiful flowers and tasty vegetables and fruits! Use your creativity and develop a green thumb. Don't have time for a garden? Care for a cactus! They're cheap and cute, but watch out for those spines.

12. Learn a new language. Go to the library and borrow books on different languages, such as French, Spanish, and sign. Habla Espanol?

13. Go back to school shopping early and snag some deals!

14. Get involved in a youth group, 4-H or scouts.

15. Get skills: Learn skateboarding. learn a dance type, break dance for example, you might need them in the future

16. Get a hobby: learn working on a piano, or a guitar...

17. Get a job: summer is a perfect time to get money, then buy an Xbox or something
