In the picture, the students on the platform were acting out a poem the class just learned. The girl on the left was reading the poem.
Acting out is a fun activity to do after students read a story, be it in the form of prose or poem.
Last semester, after I taught the poem "To a Daughter Leaving Home" by Linda Pastan, I asked the students to form a group of three, one being the narrator, the other two the actors, and act the poem out. They have a few minutes to practice and I randomly picked some groups to give the show.
