Xue-ling (廖雪伶), a student in Class 314, has passed the high-intermediate level of the GEPT recently. An examinee who passes this leve has the English ability "roughly equivalent to that of a university graduate in Taiwan whose major was not English." Quite a few universities in Taiwan require their graduates pass at least the first stage of this level, which includes listening and reading.
