Imagination Is More Important Than Knowledge

This late afternoon I took my mom to the hospital.  We stayed there for about 4 hours. On our way out, I saw Albert Einstein's words on the wall near the exit:

"Imagination is more important than knowledge."

This reminded me of a speech given by Mr. Chen, Chao-ming (陳超明教授), then a professor at National Chengchi University. Mr. Chen proposed that instead of giving many pages to facts, textbooks should contain more literary works since literature fuels imagination.

Is our education stimulating students' imagination or suffocating it?
