Today I visited Er-mei Lake and the headquarters of Meitreya Great Tao (彌勒大道) in Hsinchu with my former colleagues at Jieshow Junior High School (介壽國中), where I taught before teaching at NHSH. The following is a poem which describes a statue of Meitreya. Yeah, C'est la vie.
Be Joyful in All Encounters
"Everything is impermanent.
All that arise will perish.
So be unattached to this world.
Yet live with joy and compassion.
Appreciate all that come.
Yet be undisturbed as they go.
Be free and unrestrained
In the journey of life."
隨緣快樂
不執緣生緣滅
不捨緣生緣滅
來者不拒 去者不留
遊戲人間來去自如
幸福就在當下
