By Tim Bowler Business  reporter, BBC News

Could the language we speak skew our  financial decision-making, and does the fact that you're reading this in English make you less likely than a Mandarin speaker to save for your old age?

Textbook Library

NAER-13

Yesterday I was invited to attend an advisory meeting at National Academy for Educational Research.  In the elevator, I was surprised to see "Textbook Library" on the floor directory.  I never knew but have been expecting there is such a library in our country.  So after the meeting, as if finding a treasure trove, with excitement, I went straight to it. Browsing around in there, I found a set of English textbooks I used in high school. An unexpected encounter!

The LifeType blogging system is terminating its operation soon.  Please see the announcement:

Fortunately, I have kept my blog with another system WordPress, which was recommended by my former student Etta.

I'll keep writing my entry in my WordPress blog besides finding another blogging system to take the place of LifeType.

Conflicts in and in Seeing Les Miserables

This afternoon, I went to see Les Miserables, a movie adapted from the musical of the same name, which in turn was based on the famous masterpiece by Victor Hugo.   The conflicts presented in the story make it greatly enchanting to me.

An Excerpt from Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom

I finished Mitch Albom's Have a Little Faith around two weeks ago.  A book about faith and how faith makes a difference in life.  Enchanting and keeping me thinking.

When it comes to English, Mitch Albom's books are at the right level of difficulty for juniors and seniors in high school.  The following is an excerpt from Have a Little Faith. I love the story and its moral.
