煩惱英聽設備？關鍵在激勵學習

學習要有成效，主動學習的意志與時間的投入是關鍵。如今，世界上外語學習的趨勢已然告訴我們，大陸、日本、南韓與香港等很多國家與地區，皆把學生英語聽力的程度納入「入學考試」的評核項目中。然而，我國的學生學了六到十幾年的英語，卻達不到老外到台灣來學三到六個月的中文相當的學習成果。原因無他，學生主動學習英語的意志與時間投入的程度是關鍵之一。

My comments: Yes, active learning and dedication! A former student listened to 3 English magaiznes in his first year of high school, and his English improved by leaps and bounds. An exchange student from Germany visited my homeroom class two years ago, he could give a speech in Chinese for 50 minutes. He'd learned Chinese for only 8 months. He told the class the environment and massive exposure to the target language are important. Trying communicating in English and reading the Chinese newspaper helped him a lot. When it came to reading the newspaper, he said he just read the section he was interested in, for example, sports.

如今，為了與世界同流，要在國中會考中加考英聽，卻聽到各式各樣的反對理由。其中又以「偏鄉地區國中沒有英聽設備，校長煩惱怎麼考」最離譜。

參考我們這一代的英語學習經驗，會發現我們當年靠的是一台收錄音機，每天定時收聽適合自己程度的英語廣播節目來提升英語能力。即使現在，於大學教授「應用英語」時，為了提升學生的英聽能力，除了要求學生每周自行到指定的網站（如：英語直通車、VOA Special English…）閱聽學習英語至少三小時外，也利用收錄音機播放適合學生程度的英語錄音帶或ＣＤ來測驗學生的英聽能力。學生學得很快樂，且成效也頗佳，並未見學生抱怨怎麼沒使用專業的英聽設備來教與考他們。
