首位網路托福滿分 網友讚「托福之神」
台灣首位網路托福滿分出現了！今年剛從交大外文系畢業的謝瑋婷日前報考美國網路托福（iBT），竟得到滿分120分，網友大讚簡直就是「托福之神」，連她自己都不禁直呼一切就像做夢般，令人不敢相信。
據《中國時報》報導，謝瑋婷因計畫到美國唸研究所而報考網路托福，沒想到竟獲得滿分的好成績。她表示，小學曾因父親外調到美國工作而在美國待過一段時間，但因為語言障礙，無法與當地人溝通，讓她非常痛苦，因此她不斷的看英語卡通來加強語言能力。回國後，除了學校的英語課程外，她也利用課餘時間上國外網站，或是藉由閱讀外文小說、雜誌自學，從不間斷。
My comments: Start with what you like using English as a tool. Extensive exposure to English is the key.
傳統托福從06年改成新制網路考試後，困難度提高不少，台灣每年約2~3萬人報考，從未有人拿到滿分。謝瑋婷說，為了學好英語她也是下了一番苦功，除了每天早上聽廣播跟著念之外，也訓練自己將聽過的內容消化，摘要成重點再說一次，另外，也會陪媽媽看影集並討論劇情，或是看名人演說影片，提昇中英文轉換，以及如何漂亮的使用英語。
My comments: "Shadowing" is a good strategy in training one's listening and speaking abilities. Besides, when reading, underlining or jotting down in the notebook beautiful sentences from the book benefits our writing. For example, in the article "The Quite Crisis" in the latest RD (Nov., 2011), when the author mentioned how his ailing father insisted on living independently, he wrote, "...and I understood that his autonomy was the thread by which his emotional health hung." This creates a vivid image.
