Leave Your Comfort Zone

Bono

Bono Wu (吳翰), a former student who graduated in 2006, paid me a visit today before he goes to the army this Wednesday. During our three-hour chat, he shared with me his extensive experience. It wowed me!

Always looking for challenges, Bono has had rich experiences since he was a junior at NTU. A history major, he shifted successfully to the business field without taking any related courses in school. In his junior year, he did some voluntary work and entered himself in several competitions held by National Youth Commission (http://www.nyc.gov.tw/) and SITE (https://sites.google.com/site/site2011site/). By participating in the competitions, he learned business skills "by doing." After a trip to Singapore, which broadened his views, he decided to go for more. Over the past year, he has had his internship in Egypy, Greece, Rome and London via AIESEC (http://www.aiesec.org.tw/).

I was impressed with Bono's attitude toward life. He doesn't want to just stay in his comfort zone, but seeks to expand his horizons. When asked to give advice to high school students, he said the environment is very important. He suggested the seniors study hard for the entrance exam and then go to a good college. Another advice from him is that English is very important. With a good command of English, one enjoys more opportunities.
