英文時事題多 考生哀鴻遍野

「難啊！」「滿難的！」「不好寫！」指考英文科比去年難度高很多，雖然句型還好，但陌生的單字多，閱讀測驗、文意選填都不好寫，翻譯考核電、輻射也有點難。考生哀鴻遍野，大多數學生表示作文來不及寫，一名女學生考完喪氣說「我要重考了！」

My comments: Those who have the habit of reading English articles or books wouldn't have found the test that hard.

考生普遍反映時事題很多，日本福島核電廠爆炸及核能安全、校園霸凌都入題。南山高中陳冠琦說，閱讀測驗內容包羅萬象，生難字很多，得先看題目再從文章裡找答案，而篇章結構、文意選填題幹都難。

My comments: One of the reading skills is to guess the new words in context or even skip the words.

台北市高中英文科輔導團表示，英文科選擇題和翻譯題難度均增加，不少考生沒時間寫完。補教老師則說，考了些不常見的單字，加上「文意選填」和「篇章結構」的答案選項多過題數，是三年來最難。

My comments: The only word tested which is uncommon to the students is "recall." However, the students could use the strategy of deletion to make the right choice. The distractors "clarify," "transform," and "polish" can't fit in the statement.

補教老師林俐說，英文科單選第一題就考「fabric」這個單字，許多考生可能不知道中文解釋是「布料」；第九題考Wikileak（維機解密）洩漏了一些國家的安全資訊，考「disclose（洩漏）」這個單字。

My comments: The word "fabric" can be found in my students' textbook (Book 6). It appears in a lesson about "nanotechnology."

英文作文題目「畢業典禮」，學生們認為好發揮，不過台東女中學生郭詩妤指出，要描述剛舉行的畢業典禮，不太容易敘述。
