Can you imagine celebrating birthdays together with your junior high schoolmates 40 years after graduation? We did that again yesterday evening!
Since we got reconnected on April 19 last year, there have been many meet-ups, in different forms. Every three months, a birthday celebration is held. In fact, though yesterday's celebration dinner had been scheduled, several of the group memebers met this past Monday and Tuesday. I didn't go, but I enjoyed the photos on the LINE and felt like I were there.
Without that big reunion last April or the set-up of the LINE group, many of the get-togethers would not have been possible. And the group is keeping growing. Recently, a schoolmate who suffered from cancer joined us. At yesterday's gathering, many went to say hello to, get more acquainted with, or encourage him. I took quite a few pictures of the heartwarming moments and was deeply moved. This morning, a schoolmate said on LINE that it had been a long time since he felt really happy.
In this group, everyone is good in different fields: computer, architecture, business/trading, nursing, drama, etc. Only three were once teachers, and I am one. Everyone has something to teach and something to learn. "Miscellaneous" is a good word to describe this big family.
In the afternoon, after having lunch together, a few paid a visit to Po-ching's home at his invitation. His new home is located on the 21st floor! Our dear chemistry teacher Ms. Lee and her husband joined us. Po-ching drove to Liko to pick them up and around 5pm drove them back.

We feel like brothers and sisters.

How I love this photo. I took it just at the right moment. After 43 years, the gentleman still behaved like a teenager before the teacher. Haha!
