This photo and the following two were taken last night around 9:30 when I was taking a walk at Pihu. The flowers are called Small-leaved Barringtonia (穗花棋盤腳). They reminded me of a sentence I texted a student who felt down because she was only on the waiting list for admission to National Central University: "All flowers bloom, but not at the same time, in the same way." The words did lift her spirits, as she said. What's better, she got admitted eventually.
