In this letter, what impressed me most is that Mr. Jiang suggested college students learn to be alone. I agree with him that this is an important lesson.

Many students often feel it is the end of the world when their good friend breaks up with them or when they can't win someone's friendship. I often tell them they have to be their own best friend and enjoy the time when being alone.

Being alone doesn't equal to "loneliness." In fact, it is even more likely to enrich one's life. Some people hang out with friends all day just to get the feeling they have company, that they are not left alone. However, if they spend the time reading or learning something, they will have a different life.

Of course, it's wonderful to have a rapport with someone. However, if we can't find that "someone" for now, it is OK. Being alone could bring us more.
