Ken's visit, plus how to impress the professors in the interview for college application

This afternoon, Ken paid me a visit. He called at noon and made sure that I would be at school at 4:00pm. It's been a long time since we last saw each other. He arrived at around 3:40 and we had a good chat until around 5:30. He showed me his school newspaper (大學報, Chengchi University) which he helped edit. In fact, he was responsible for the sports column, which he said took up a lot of his time. He also told me that he was selected to pay a visit to Japan for free during the winter vacation.

They even visited the National Diet of Japanese; that is the national parliament of Japan. Wow! What an experience!

Ken has always been aggressive and that is why he seems to lead a colorful life. That's good for him.

He highly suggested that senior high school students joined the so-called college application held in March and April. According to him, that would be a terrific experience. Even the interview, which daunts most students, is a chance of a lifetime. One might succeed and get admitted to the department he chooses. Even if he fails, he learns to improve himself.

Besides, Ken gave a very important tip to those who are going for an interview--Don't be too humble. Before he went for an interview two years ago, he sat in one or two classes and one of the professors told him that during the interview, instead of telling the interviewers/professors why you want to enter their department, for which almost every interviewee would say the same thing, one should focus on impressing them with how good he is so that the professors would think it a great pity not to have him in the department. Well, this is good advice.
