A conference on 2008 SAT

This afternoon I attended a conference at CEEC. According to the statistics CEEC offered, this year's (97) SAT is the easiest one among the recent five years'. The items with P=or >0.51 account for 78.5%. Some teachers mentioned that it couldn't differentiate the real top students from the rest. However, a teacher reminded us that we had to take care of most students who, unfortunately, never had confidence in English. Well, he is right. Besides, if we don't have too difficult tests, students won't need to go to cram school.
I am very happy that at the reference Prof. Lee, Chen-ching mentioned Steve Jobs' Stanford address. He asked the students to watch the video and his students were quite touched by the address. I remember Yong-chen said that after she was so touched by the address that she wanted to cry. Yes! I'd like students to have this experience--having something reach the depths of their heart.
